The “Platform” refers to all digital properties through which we offer Services, including our website and mobile applications. By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and procedures described in this Privacy Policy. Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of our Services is also subject to our Terms of Service (https://www.playanything.com/terms).
Personal Information We Collect
We may collect a variety of personal information from or about you or your devices from various sources, as described below.
A. Personal Information You Provide to Us
Registration and Account Information. If you create an account to use our Services, we may ask you for your personal information, including your name and email address.
Communications. If you contact us directly, we may receive personal information about you, such as your name, email address, phone number, city, the contents of a message or attachments that you may send to us, and other information you choose to provide. If you subscribe to our newsletter, then we will collect certain information from you, such as your email address. When we send you emails, we may track whether you open them to learn how to deliver a better customer experience and improve our Services.
Prompts and Outputs. The Services allow you to submit text, documents, or other materials to the Services (“Prompts”), which generate responses based on your Prompts (“Outputs”). If you include personal information in your Prompts, we will collect that information and this information may be reproduced in the Outputs. Prompts and Outputs may include personal information you choose to provide. We process this information to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including transcription, arrangement, leveling, and live performance feedback features you choose to use. We honor your model training preference settings as described in “Your Choices.”
Careers. If you decide that you wish to apply for a job with us, you may submit your contact information and your resume online. We will collect the information you choose to provide on your resume, such as your education and employment experience. You may also apply through LinkedIn, Indeed, or other third-party services. If you do so, we will collect the information you make available to us on LinkedIn, Indeed, or other third-party services.
Payment Information. If you make a purchase through our Services, your payment-related information, such as credit card or other financial information, is collected by our third-party payment processor on our behalf. We receive confirmation of completed transactions, including transaction amounts, dates, and payment method type (but not full payment card numbers), which we use to maintain your account, process Credit allocations, and fulfill our recordkeeping and tax obligations.
User Content. When you use our Services, including the AnythingPiano app, you may create, upload, submit, or generate content such as transcriptions, arrangements, annotations, practice notes, and other materials (“User Content”). We collect and process User Content to provide the Services and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of any original content you create, subject to the license grants described in our Terms of Service.
Audio Recordings and Playback Data. If you use features of our Services that access your device’s microphone, such as practice feedback or performance comparison features in the AnythingPiano app, we may collect audio recordings of your performances (“Audio Recordings”). We process Audio Recordings to provide real-time feedback, compare your playback against transcriptions, and improve the Services. We do not share your Audio Recordings with third parties except as necessary to provide the Services or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. You may disable microphone access at any time through your device settings, but this may limit certain app functionality.
B. Personal Information We Collect When You Use Our Services
Location Information. When you use our Services, we may receive your location information (for example, your IP address may indicate your general geographic region).
Device Information. We receive information about the device and software you use to access our Services, including IP address, web browser type, operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, application installations, device identifiers (including unique device identifiers and mobile advertising identifiers), push notification tokens, device model, screen size, and hardware settings. For mobile applications, we may also collect app version, mobile operating system version, and device-specific performance data.
Usage Information. To help us understand how you use our Services and to help us improve them, we automatically receive information about your interactions with our Services, such as the pages or screens you view, features you use, content you access, dates and times of your visits, session duration, and in-app actions (such as starting a practice session, generating a transcription, or completing a comparison). For mobile applications, this may include information about app launches, crashes, and performance metrics.
Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies. We and our third-party partners collect information using cookies, pixel tags, or similar technologies. Our third-party partners, such as analytics and advertising partners, may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across different services. Cookies are small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our Services. Please review your web browser’s “Help” file to learn how you may modify your cookie settings. Please note that if you delete or choose not to accept cookies from our Services, you may not be able to utilize the features of our Services to their fullest potential.

When you install or use our mobile applications, we may request access to certain features or data on your device, including: (a) Microphone — to capture audio recordings for practice feedback and performance comparison features; (b) Storage/Media Library — to save and access transcriptions, audio files, and other User Content; (c) Camera — if you choose to scan sheet music or other documents; (d) Notifications — to send you practice reminders, updates, and other communications; and (e) Internet/Network Access — to sync your account, access online features, and communicate with our servers. You can manage these permissions through your device’s settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit your ability to use some features of our mobile applications.

- Credit Purchase amounts, dates, and payment confirmation;
- Credit redemption history, including the Eligible Services for which Credits were redeemed;
- Your Credit Balance (including Purchased Credits and Subscription Credits);
- Transaction metadata, including timestamps, output types (e.g., PDF, MusicXML, MIDI), and associated compositions or catalog identifiers; and

We use this information to operate the Credit system, maintain accurate account records, prevent fraud, comply with our obligations to music publishers and rights holders, and fulfill applicable legal and tax requirements.
Content Identification Information. We may use automated content identification technologies (such as audio fingerprinting or metadata matching) to identify the musical compositions or sound recordings associated with your Prompts, Outputs, or uploaded reference files. This information may include song titles, composer and songwriter names, publisher identifiers, and catalog metadata. We use this information to:
- Ensure proper licensing and royalty accounting to rightsholders;
- Enforce catalog-specific restrictions (e.g., restricted compositions, territorial limitations, or feature restrictions);
- Comply with rightsholder restrictions; and
- Generate aggregated usage reports for internal analytics and licensing compliance.

- To generate anonymized or aggregated data for royalty reporting, licensing analytics, and internal business purposes; and
- For other purposes for which we provide specific notice at the time the information is collected.
Retention
We retain personal information, Prompts, Outputs, and related usage data for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. When you delete content (e.g., a transcription), we endeavor to reasonably remove active copies from our production systems, subject to legal holds, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and technical constraints. Where you have shared content with others or made it public, copies may remain with recipients or on third-party services.
We retain Credit Purchase records, Credit Balance history, and Transaction records for as long as your account remains active and for a minimum of seven (7) years thereafter to comply with legal, tax, and audit obligations. We may retain aggregated or anonymized usage data for longer periods for royalty reporting, licensing analytics, and internal business purposes.

These services may also collect information about your use of other websites, apps, and online resources. You can learn more about Google’s practices by visiting https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
As Required By Law and Similar Disclosures. We may access, preserve, and disclose your information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena, respond to your requests, or protect your, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety.
Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. We may transfer your information to service providers, advisors, potential transactional partners, or other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company or we sell, liquidate, or transfer all or a portion of our assets.
Music Publishers and Licensors. We may disclose certain information to music publishers, rights holders, and their authorized agents to fulfill our contractual obligations under music licensing agreements. This information may include:

- Other information reasonably required to comply with audit rights granted to music publishers under our licensing agreements.
We will not disclose your name, email address, or other directly identifying personal information to music publishers or their auditors except as required by law or with your consent. We structure our data-sharing arrangements with publishers to minimize the disclosure of personal information and to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Content Identification Services. We may share audio fingerprints, metadata, or other technical identifiers derived from your Prompts, Outputs, or reference files with third-party content identification services to identify musical compositions and sound recordings. These services help us ensure proper licensing, royalty accounting, and catalog compliance. We do not share your personal information (such as name or email address) with these services; we share only the technical data necessary for content identification.
Payment Processors. When you make a Credit Purchase, subscription payment, or other transaction, your payment information is collected and processed by our third-party payment processors (such as Stripe, Apple, or Google). We do not receive or store your full payment card numbers. Our payment processors may use your information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
App Store Platforms. Our mobile applications are distributed through third-party app store platforms, including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When you download or use our mobile applications, those platforms may collect information about you in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control the data collection practices of app store platforms. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Apple (https://www.apple.com/privacy/) and Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy) as applicable.
Third-Party SDKs and Analytics. Our mobile applications may incorporate third-party software development kits (“SDKs”) or analytics tools to provide functionality, measure performance, and understand user behavior. These third-party services may collect device information, usage data, and other information as described in this Privacy Policy. Examples may include crash reporting tools, analytics platforms, and advertising networks (if applicable). We require that third-party SDK providers handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws, but their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Consent. We may also disclose your information with your permission.
Your Choices

We retain records of your Credit Purchases, Credit Balance, and Transaction history for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, tax, and audit obligations. You may request a copy of your Credit Purchase and Transaction history by contacting us at support@songscription.ai. Please note that we may be required to retain certain transaction records for legal, tax, or audit purposes even if you delete your account.
Publisher Data Sharing. Because we may be obligated to report usage data and support audits under music licensing agreements, we cannot offer an opt-out of aggregated or anonymized data sharing with music publishers. However, as described above, we do not share your directly identifying personal information (such as name or email address) with publishers or their auditors except as required by law or with your consent. If you have questions about our publisher data-sharing practices, please contact us at support@songscription.ai.
Audio Recordings. You may delete Audio Recordings associated with your account through your account settings or by contacting us at support@songscription.ai. Deleted Audio Recordings will be removed from our active systems, subject to our retention practices, legal holds, and technical constraints as described in the “Retention” section. We may retain certain aggregated or anonymized data derived from Audio Recordings for internal analytics and service improvement.
Mobile App Permissions. You may control the permissions granted to our mobile applications through your device settings. For example, you can disable microphone access, storage access, or push notifications at any time. Disabling certain permissions may limit your ability to use specific features of the app. For instructions on managing app permissions, please consult your device’s help resources or operating system documentation.
Third Parties
Our Services may contain links to other websites, products, or services that we do not own or operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Please be aware that this Privacy Policy does not apply to your activities on these third-party services or any information you disclose to these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information to them.
If you make a Credit Purchase through a third-party app store (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play) or payment provider, your payment information is collected and processed by that platform in accordance with its privacy policy. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions. If you make in-app purchases or subscribe to premium features (such as our Pro tier, including annual subscription options) through our mobile applications, your payment information is collected and processed by the app store platform (Apple or Google) or our third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive transaction confirmation data, including purchase amounts, subscription tier, billing period, and renewal dates, which we use to activate your subscription, maintain your account, and fulfill our recordkeeping obligations. Your use of in-app purchases and subscriptions is also subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable app store platform.

We make reasonable efforts to protect your information by using security measures designed to safeguard the information we maintain. However, because no electronic transmission or storage of information can be entirely secure, we can make no guarantees as to the security or privacy of your information.

5. International Data Transfers
When we transfer your personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the U.S. or other countries outside those regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with applicable law. These safeguards include:
Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). We use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and, for UK transfers, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) as the primary mechanism for transferring personal data to recipients in the U.S. and other third countries that have not been recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection.
Supplementary Measures. Where required, we implement supplementary technical and organizational measures to ensure that transferred data remains protected, including encryption, access controls, and contractual commitments from recipients.
Transfer Impact Assessments. We conduct Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) for transfers to the U.S. to evaluate the legal framework in the destination country and the effectiveness of supplementary measures.
